About Me:

Heyy there! My name is Manoj Kumar Ashok, but you can call me Mack. I’m a graduate student in Data Science with hands-on experience in machine learning, AI, and data analysis. I focus on building scalable, data-driven solutions that make a real impact. From developing predictive models to extracting insights that drive smart decisions, I bring both technical depth and a practical mindset. I enjoy writing clean, efficient code and turning complex data into clear, actionable outcomes.

Current focus: I'm currently leading a research project on Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), where I'm integrating Conditional GANs with architectures like IcGAN and RoCGAN to enhance image generation. The work focuses on improving model realism and training efficiency, with measurable gains in FID scores and inference time.

I believe good code isn’t just about solving problems — it’s about solving them clearly, efficiently, and collaboratively. Whether I’m flying solo or working with a team, I focus on making solutions maintainable and meaningful.

When I’m not coding, I’m probably in the gym, in the swimming pool, or cooking something new. I’m a naturally curious guy — I love picking up new skills. Recently, I’ve explored video editing, graphic design, and playing the piano. I also enjoy diving into video games when I get the time. Doing all of these keeps life more interesting, clears my head, and actually sharpens my logical thinking. Whether it’s creative work or competitive gaming, it all feeds back into how I solve problems in code.

Machine learning in Action: My recent Work

Heart Disease Prediction

A machine learning model trained on patient data to predict heart disease. Gradient Boosting achieved 88.6% accuracy and 93.9% ROC-AUC using 12 clinical features including age, cholesterol, and chest pain type.

Coffee Chain Sales Analysis

An end-to-end data analysis project using real-world sales data. Transformed and visualized metrics like profit and expenses, tackled skewness with statistical techniques, and extracted insights using R.

Credit Limit Prediction

A regression-based data science project exploring demographic and financial features to predict customer credit limits. Techniques used: linear regression, polynomial models, Ridge, LASSO, and cross-validation.

Speech Emotion Recognition

A deep learning-based system for speech emotion classification using MFCCs, Chroma, and Mel Spectrogram features. Integrates Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) for temporal pattern recognition and Support Vector Machines (SVMs) as a baseline to identify emotions such as happy, sad, angry, and more from audio signals.
